Welcome to Picture Garden, an OKC based arts organization aimed at cultivating an analog filmmaking community. For nearly a decade, we’ve been shooting super 8 and 16mm, animating by scratching and painting directly onto film, hand-processing, and projecting film. We believe that analog filmmaking is an honest companion in the pursuit of expression and we want to share that with you by increasing opportunities to learn, share, and project work on film. Our first meeting will be centered on direct animation, otherwise called "cameraless" filmmaking. Participants will be able to work in groups or individually on strips of blank 16mm black or clear leader, or from a select number of educational films from seemingly the 1970s-1980s. The workshop is free to attend and all materials will be provided. If you’re not interested in participating but still want to attend to hang out and see just what the heck is going on, you’re more than welcome! Please rsvp below, space is limited:
